Build bonds

At the end of the day, we will judge the quality of our life by the quality the relationships that we had.

We used to say that one becomes an average of 5 surrounding people.

Your friends, your team, your squad. Choose people who elevate you, choose those who force you to become a better version of yourself. Your friends should be people of value, people of quality, people of integrity.

Keep company only with people who uplift you.

Many of my friends I admire because their intelligence is intimidating me. I know that I have to match their ever-growing intellectual ambitions otherwise, I would simply fall out of their circle.

Many of my friends I admire because their kindness teaching me more than intelligence ever could. It teaches me how to stay humble, to be compassionate, how to be caring.

If a person doesn’t possess the qualities that you are highly sympathetic about if he doesn’t fill you with admiration, walk away.

Your friends should charge you with the feeling of pride, you should be proud when you introduce your friends to new acquaintances, you should feel pride because you will know — they see the same thing in you. They see your light, they stick around, they value you.

My definition of the word ‘friend’ is very simple.

A friend is someone who is taking care of you.

And by taking care I mean sacrificing his own resource be it time (which is also money), or money (which is also time), or anything else for the sake of yours.

Invest in your relationships. Build strong bonds. Make meaningful connections. Make sure that your friends have the ambition to grow all their lives because in this case, your friendship will become life-long.

Make sure that when something changes and it is time to let people go, you let go. The relationship that you had will still live within you. Make it right. It will keep you in peace.

You don’t choose your family, but you do choose your friends. Choose wisely because at the end of the day that is all that matters.
